Kudos to all participants (rangers from the Ponta do Ouro Partial Marine Reserve, teachers and tourism operators) who joined the Green Bubbles workshop dedicated to Ocean Literacy and Citizen Science for children. The workshop, stemming from the collaboration with the Reserve, aims to train all key actors that will then raise awareness in kids at schools and during informal education activities. Topics span Marine Biology, Ocean Literacy, Citizen Science with theory modules followed by field and lab practical sessions. Two final days were dedicated to practicing in a real-life scenario, by teaching a class of 24 children.
We are impressed by the commitment and dedication of all participants – the future is yours!!!
(A special thank you to Miguel Goncalves, warden of the Ponta do Ouro PMR, for making this all happen – invaluable as usual!).
